International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
25-26 November 2017, Rome

Estimates suggest that over 150,000 people gathered in Rome on 25 and 26 November 2017 to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. In Italy, where gendered violence remains high and the subject treated as a sensationalist emergency rather than a structural problem, this was a strong turnout, notable for its cross-generational dimension.

The main march was organized by the movement Non una di meno, who, as Political Critique reported last week, released a comprehensive 57-page strategy against gender violence.
